This course provides the opportunity for students to build their knowledge around the life skills they will need post schooling. It is delivered to students in Year 11 and year 12 over a 2-year period in 40-minute lessons weekly. This captures many more than the required 25 hours. Six teachers who are experts in the six content areas and have a strong understanding current challenges facing young adults, are responsible for the delivery. A differentiated approach is used to meet the needs of each cohort using a mix of the suggested content and lesson plans and specific learning activities that cater to the context of the boys at the school. Occasionally, external providers and Careers lessons are integrated into the curriculum offering services which are age appropriate and relevant to students needs and aligned with the Life ready content.
An annual review will take place to ensure that the school is meeting the needs of the boys and delivering the outcomes of the Life Ready course.
