Our school provides students with plenty of options and areas of further pursuit when it comes to the future careers or paths they may wish to follow.

School to work program at Canterbury Boys High School

The School to Work program at Canterbury Boys High School aims to assist students with their career development and career decision making for the future.

Students are given the opportunity to explore post school options through:

  • career programs delivered by the careers adviser
  • vocational learning courses offered through Technical and Further Education (TAFE)
  • TAFE excursions
  • university excursions
  • Career Expos
  • guest speaker presentations
  • work experience
  • individual career planning interviews with the schools career advisor
  • University of New South Whales (UNSW) in-school workshops and campus visits
  • University of Sydney (USYD) in-school workshops and campus visits
  • TAFE taster short courses.
  • vocational qualifications such as Work Healh and Safety (WHS) White Card and Certificate 3 in hospitality through Canterbury.
  • Hurlstone Park RSL Club, Barista, Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG) courses).

Initiatives and engagement opportunities

Our school exposes students from as early as Year 7 up until Year 12, to possible career paths that may capture their interest or assist them on the path they have already chosen. Which consists of opportunites such as:
