This painting is an appropriation of a landscape image of a mountainous area with a lake and small grass patch in the foreground. Our task was to create depth by changing an aspect of the image. I decided to use darker colours on the foreground and then gradually lighten the colours in the distance. I used the element of tone to create depth and make the painting look more realistic. Another technique that I used was dabs and dashes to create texture in the artwork.
