What we offer

Each school in NSW offers something slightly different depending on the community. Here's what we offer for you.

Canteen

All canteens in NSW public schools must meet certain requirements. These include providing more healthy food and drink options – to make the healthy choice an easy choice for students. Visit Healthy school canteens to learn more.

Canterbury Boys High School's canteen provides a range of healthy eating options for our growing boys!

Students are reminded that food from external sources (for example, McDonalds, pizza, kebabs and other such items) cannot be 'dropped off' at school as students have access to the food at canteen. Students do not have permission to leave the school premises and get food during their break times.

We respectfully request that parents do not bring take-away food for their child during break times as this is a breach of school expectation and may not adhere to the NSW guidelines for schools. Parents are of course welcome to bring the school's administration office money for the school's canteen or food from home for their child. This will be passed onto your child at the end of their scheduled lesson.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Uniforms

When students wear a school uniform, they feel included in our school community.

Students, teachers, parents and carers, as well as members of our local community helped develop our school uniform to make sure it:

  • meets the requirements of occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination and equal opportunity legislation

  • includes items that are affordable, comfortable and made from easy-care and easy-wear fabrics

  • is appropriate for the full range of school activities

  • is suitable for all body shapes.

Learn more about the NSW Department of Education’s School Uniform Policy.

As you are aware Canterbury Boys High School is proudly a uniform school with the school community supporting the wearing of correct school uniform by all students.

Our uniform consists of grey shorts/pants, white/blue shirt with the school crest, either the junior or senior tie and black leather shoes. The sport uniform can only be worn to school by students on a Wednesday (the schools sport day). It consists of a royal blue shorts/track pants and blue and yellow school sports polo and appropriate leather sports shoes.

Uniforms can be purchased at the LOWES Burwood or LOWES online.

All students are expected to be in correct uniform each day. If you are the recipient of Centrelink benefits you may be eligible for student assistance with the purchase of the uniform. Please contact the school office on 02 9798 8444 to enquire. An application form will need to be completed.

Please note that if students continually breach the school uniform code parents/carers are informed and requested to intervene. If there are further concerns parents/carers will be contacted to bring the correct uniform to school. Further disciplinary action may occur if there are continual breaches of the school uniform policy.

Your support in this matter is most appreciated.
