How to enrol 

Contact us when you’re ready to enrol your child in our school. You may need to attend an interview with the principal. There you can discuss any medical conditions or other special circumstances before your child starts school. We may also complete a risk assessment on the enrolment.

The application form must be completed in English. However, a translated application to enrol may help you to fill out the form in English.

Canterbury Boys' High School offers the opportunity for international students to study at the school and complete the internationally recognised higher school certificate (HSC). The school hosts a significant number of international students as there is a proud history and tradition of a comprehensive high school with a strong academic standard and student partiicpation in a range of co-curricular programs and initiatives.

Non-local enrolments

As outlined in the department’s enrolment policy, our school may accept enrolments from outside our local enrolment area if places are available.

We will assess applications for non-local enrolment on a case-by-case basis.

If you wish to apply for enrolment at Canterbury Boys High School, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit the school and complete the expression of interest form (Please note: save the file after you have completed it.)
  2. Send the completed application form as an attachment to the school's email address (, use the word "enrolment" in the subject line
  3. Your application will be reviewed and then you will be contacted by the principal or deputy principal (of the year group that you have applied for your child) for an interview.

Distance education

Distance education is an equity program for students who are geographically isolated or whose individual circumstances prevent them from regularly attending school. Students must meet one of the conditions in the Distance Education Enrolment Procedures to be eligible to access this program as a full-time student.

Distance education schools also provide single subjects for students in Years 9 to 12 to enhance curriculum choice. Please contact us for details.
